We are getting dumped on! I've been up since 4:30 AM, knowing this was coming but not knowing if I would be going out in it this morning.
Laurel's school had already decided, back on Wednesday, to double up the final exams yesterday and to cancel school for today. But Dan's school and the other kids' school waited until this morning at around 5:30 AM to decide to close.
There was nothing happening at 4:30 AM when I got up, but by the time 5:30 rolled around there was already an inch on the ground. We're supposed to get 8 to 10 inches in our part of the Detroit area, more to the north of us. Lovely.
So once 5:30 came and we got the phone call from Dan's school and the kids' school had popped up on the closed list, you'd think I'd go back to bed. But I was hungry and so I made toast and came here to share with all of you. Why? I haven't made any cards in the past couple of days, but you know what? You know what?
Oh! Oh! (Yes, I am Arnold Horschack! And now I'm showing my age!)
Stampin' Up!™ has changed their policy about samples for upcoming promotions:
Demonstrators are allowed to advertise Stampin' Up! promotions to their customers before the promotions begin via blogs, flyers, e-mail, and other media. Because Stampin' Up! promotions vary, demonstrators must follow these guidelines as they advertise:
- For promotions with a preorder period. Demonstrators can begin announcing the promotion to their customers when the preorder begins.
- For promotions without a preorder period. Demonstrators can begin promoting the promotion one month prior to the start date of the promotion. If the announcement comes less than one month prior to the promotion, demonstrators can begin promoting it immediately.
- For annual promotions such as the retired list or Sale-A-Bration, demonstrators can begin advertising these promotions and sharing the dates of the promotion with their customers once they know the scheduled dates as announced on the Demonstrator Web Site. However, demonstrators should wait to show samples until the preorder for the promotion is announced.
Hooray! While I feel a bit like my head is still vibrating from the whiplash-like action of these policy changes, at least NOW I can now show you these:

GOJUS!!! (YILM!) I wish I had known that this background is about to retire (SOB!) I love it and will be sad to see it go.
Speaking of retirement, you still have time to take advantage of the FREE SHIPPING (oh...did I yell?
) and the 10% off all retiring sets that goes through December 23rd! So if you want to get this bundle, you could use it as part of the order to get to $70 for the free shipping! How cool is that? Contact your demo or you can order from me.
The other exciting thing is that Big Birthday Candle and Warm Words are NOT retiring! Someone put them on the list by mistake. The great thing is that you can still get 10% off the price of these sets until December 23, even though they will be in the next catalog! Whoopee! I love Big Birthday Candle (and Warm Words) and was seriously bummed to think that such a great set was going to retire so early in it's career. Look for a card soon using it, as I always do birthday cards for my December class.
Well, I will be signing off. Since I don't have to go anywhere, I can cop a snooze in the big man chair since the big man is going to stay in bed. I have milk in the house since I prudently stopped and bought some more yesterday. My house is decorated for the holidays except for the tree, which we will probably get this weekend. I can spend the day baking and stamping and listening to children ask me for one more turn on the computer. And complaining that the new filtering software I bought is blocking their favorite sites. Bwahahahahahah!
And since the big man is home today, HE can run the snowblower and I won't have to do this:
Hope everyone can stay warm today!
