It's time for a new Fab Friday challenge over at the Fab Friday Challenge Blog!
This week we have a sketch challenge:
I wasn't sure what to do with this sketch, so I decided to do what I have been working on, which is using ALL the sets I have gotten in the past year and haven't touched. One of them was Bootiful Occasions, which I bought after the Yeehaw set came out. I only really love the cowboy boot stamp from this set, and so I had resisted it because I don't like to buy a set for just one stamp. But with the other cowboy stuff in Yeehaw, I had to have it.
GOJUS!!! (YILM!) Yeah, this is not Yeehaw with it, but some stamps from a past Paper Pumpkin kit that just begged to be used with this boot. That is not Crumb Cake, btw, it's the Kraft cardstock that comes in 12 x 12 further back in the catalog. I like the color, warmer and more like a paper bag color.
I love the star-burst stamp from Kind of Eclectic, and yes, the boot needed to be paper pieced. All the greetings and boot pieces were heat embossed with Early Espresso powder. I love these colors together, which is Lost Lagoon, Cajun Craze, Tangelo Twist, and Early Espresso.
Wendy and I were actually Skype stamping together when we made our cards for the challenge, and we were both trying to figure out what to do with the banner shape at the bottom. I felt it hung too low and didn't want a shape like that anyway, at least not there. So I used the decorative label punch to add another greeting there.
For the embellishment, I love these Hodgepodge clips, and I decided to use a bit of the SAB second offering of In Color Twine to add a little more cowboy texture.
You'll be able to see all of our creations and post one of your own by visiting the Fab Friday blog. You can also visit the other DT members' blogs and see what they've done with this challenge:
