So I got my order from the latest release from My Favorite Things, and naturally, I had to get the new Birdie Brown stamps because I loved them.
I don't know about you, but when I get a new bunch of stamps and/or dies, I stare at them, intimidated as all get out, and can't think WHAT to do with them. It takes me a while to finally jump in and start playing.
This time was no different, but this time, the Tweet Friends set from the last release was still sitting on my desk, and staring at it, I got the most wonderful idea. My biggest problem was coming up with a sentiment for the front of the card since nothing I had seemed to fit, but I think I came up with a good one. Lookie:
STINKIN' CUTE! (YILM!) I created the sentiment with a font, Into the Vortex, that is similar to the one used in Birdie Brown's sets. I printed it off on some watercolor paper and used a mini ink blending tool with two different Distress inks to create the soft background.
The idea for this was born when I saw this kitty was looking up. I colored both him and the birdcage and bird with Copic markers.
I used the Pixscan sheet to cut out both the cat and the bird in its cage.
I added some nice sequins to the card front to give it a little bling.
I really love how it turned out!
Below is my list of products that I used (that are still available), and I have used affiliate links where they were available, as I now participate in affiliate programs for Simon Says Stamp, Amazon, Ellen Hutson LLC, Scrapbook.com, Ribbon Resource, and Blick Art Supplies. Buying through these links costs you nothing and helps support my blog and my artistic endeavors, and I thank you. Stampin' Up! product links lead to their webstore, so please be sure to indicate your preference in demonstrator if it doesn't come up automatically!
