Class was awesome last night, thank you ladies! We had a lot of fun!
I was debating about what to do for the third card and I decided to go for a graduation card, since it's that time of year. Problem? I don't own any current graduation sets...but I do have the Go Graduate Plus stampbrush set which is a digital download for MDS! It's the same set plus a few extra stamps that appears in the summer mini. So I figured we could do a hybrid card, that is part digital and part traditional papercrafting. Lookie:
Ingredients: MDS - Go Graduate Plus Digital Stampbrush Set; Paper - Nouveau Chic DSP, Basic Grey, Basic Black, Sage Shadow, Apricot Appeal, Whisper White; Markers - Going Grey, Basic Black, Sage Shadow, Apricot Appeal, Close to Cocoa, Pink Pirouette, Blush Blossom; Other - Silver brads, mini library clips, Small Star punch, 5/8" Basic Black Grosgrain ribbon
GOJUS! (YILM!) I set up 4 pages in MDS, one with 8 of the feet image, one with 8 of this "Congratulations, Graduate!" greeting, and 2 pages each with four inside sentiments and hat image. Then I printed it off and cut them up! My students simply colored and assembled.
One of the huge advantages of this is that I was able to make the feet image the size I wanted, so this card has the feet image large enough to go across the bottom of this card.
One of the disadvantages is that when coloring, the ink can smear with some of the marker colors. In the smaller areas, it's better to use the fine tip on the marker...helps you keep from going over the printed lines.
I'm getting excited for the start of the new catalog! I've been working on my first order and it's a doozy! Ta!
