Welcome to my blog! If you came here from the Splitcoaststamper's Dare to Get Dirty Challenge, you are in the right place!
If you didn't and you are a member of the fan club over on SCS, check out our challenges all week!
This technique is one I developed for my presentation at the Stampin' Up! convention this year. Lookie:
Ingredients: Stamps - Greenhouse Garden, Tagtastic, Mesh; Paper - Pool Party, Calypso Coral, Wisteria Wonder, Whisper White; Ink - Pool Party, Island Indigo, Wisteria Wonder, COncord Crush, Blushing Bride, Lucky Limeade; Other - Stripes Textured Impressions folder, Large Oval punch, 1/4" white grosgrain ribbon, white gel pen, sponge wedges, In Color Designer Printed brads, Concord Crush marker
GOJUS!!! (YILM!!! Which means "Yes I Love Myself", if you are new here!) Look at the background! It's fun and easy! I am a stampin' jeenyus, OH YES! (YILM!) ANYWAY...
To do this technique you need an embossing folder with an allover design that covers the whole folder and has broader areas to the design. Folders in the current Stampin' Up! catalog that would work well with this technique would be the Stripes folder (such as in this sample), Houndstooth, Finial Press, and Vintage Wallpaper, but you could also use a folder from other companies! I won't mind...much. Okay, okay, I am kidding!
The other thing you need is a background stamp with an all over smallish design. I used Mesh, which is a new stamp in this year's catalog, but you can use whatever you have!
And now the tutorial:
Double-Up Tutorial
- Cardstock
- Embossing Folder
- Background Stamp
- Ink Pad
- Big Shot or other die-cutting or embossing system
Step 1 - Put the cardstock in the embossing folder.
Step 2 - Run the folder through your Big Shot.
Step 3 - Lay your background stamp face up and ink 'er up!
Step 4 - Carefully lay the embossed cardstock face down on top of the inked background stamp.
Step 5 - Use your finger to make sure the cardstock and the stamp make contact. With the Stripes folder, I simply pulled my finger down each stripe. Be careful to only do this with the areas that are raised on the front of the cardstock.
Voila! Now trim it up and put it on a card! Then post it over at Splitcoaststampers with the code DTGDJanTInk.
Thanks for visiting my blog! Hope you come back soon! Ta!
