This week we have a sketch challenge:
Like last time, I left making this card until the last minute! I was searching around for an idea for this sketch, which I very much like. Since I was short of time, I decided to grab a background I had already made with Distress Oxide Inks as a jumping off point. And the colors I used make me thing of hydrangeas, which made me think of this, one of my favorite sets, like EVAH! And the extraordinary thing is that on this day last year I made a card with this set! What a coinkydink! It's not like I looked to see either. I found out when I was saving my photos. Lookie:
GOJUS!!! Wow! Those Distress Oxide inks are just beautiful to work with.
For the focal piece, I stamped in Versafine Onyx Black and used a paint brush to pain the same colors I had used for the background on the card stock. The centers of the flowers were created with white gel pen.
I stamped the greeting from Lovely from Essentials by Ellen using Versamark and embossed with white EP.
I used the craft sheet pick-up technique for the background using Kraft card stock instead of white, which really makes these colors glow! I also added some Distress Micro Glaze, which seals this and then it won't run if it gets wet.
Below is my list of products that I used, and I have used compensated affiliate links where they were available, as I now participate in affiliate programs for Simon Says Stamp, Amazon, Ellen Hutson LLC, Scrapbook.com, Gina K, Sizzix, and Blick Art Supplies. Buying through these links costs you nothing extra and helps support my blog and my artistic endeavors, and I thank you.
