Welcome back to the Paper Crafts Crew Challenge! This week we have a sketch challenge:
I looked at this sketch with it's obvious invitation to indulge in something floral and vintage and just HOWLED NOOOOOO! It's been ages since I have done a masculine card, and I have a bunch of Tim Holtz stamps that had not yet tasted ink, so I grabbed a couple of sets and got busy. Lookie:
MOJUS!!! (GOJUS in a manly way!) I love the Mini Motivation stamp set that was just released. I bought it figuring I could make a bunch of cards for my son's ADHD coach, who likes to have cards to encourage his students. Instead of using a strip of patterned paper on the right side, I went with using a blending tool to add Hickory Smoke Distress ink and stamping with the number stamps from Sideshow.
I used my MISTI to stamp the red balloon, first on Post-It Note tape, then I inked just the balloon on this stamp with my Real Red marker from Stampin' Up from the Sideshow set and stamped it a couple of times on the white card stock. Then I cut the balloon out of the Post-It Note tape and masked off the balloon before stamping with black ink.
I paper pieced the greeting from Mini Motivation using Real Red card stock from Stampin' Up! I used a bunch of Tim Holtz Tissue Tape underneath the greeting, some red twine, and a few Tim Holtz Ideology mini gears.
I added a couple of pewter brads in the corner to complete the visual triangle.
I love how this turned out!
