I'm hoping you all had a very Merry Christmas, if you celebrate it, that is! Thanks to those who bought Coaster Calendar kits and instructions, I was able to get myself something very nice indeed! I just ordered a Silhouette Cameo which will be here on New Year's Eve! I will be able to cut images from MDS with it, so I'm excited!
I had a pretty nice Christmas. Though I did have to work on the day, there were only a few reports that I had to pick up to keep one of the accounts I work on up. Mostly, I cooked and watched movies with my family. My oldest bought me Parenthood (the movie with Steve Martin, not the TV show), which is one of my all=time favorite movies EVAH.
This card was made the previous weekend, actually over an entire week as I tinkered with the main image, then it sat until I got around to finishing it off. Lookie:
Ingredients: Stamps - Look Up to Father, Hardwood; Paper - Marina Mist, Sahara Sand, Whisper White; Ink - Versamark, Early Espresso, So Saffron, Pear Pizzazz, Soft Sky, Marina Mist, Sahara Sand; Other - Pear Pizzazz taffeta ribbon, clear EP, Basic Metal buttons, Linen thread, Simply Scored tool, sponge wedges, Dimensionals, plastic wrap, Pear PIzzazz marker.
GOJUS! (YILM!) The way I did the focal image was to sponge So Saffron and Soft Sky ink on a piece of Whisper White cardstock. Then I stamped the Look Up to Father stamp in Early Espresso and embossed it with clear EP. Then I took plastic wrap that I crumpled up and inked it with Versarmak and gently stamped this on top of the image until I had covered the whole thing, then embossed with clear EP. I then sponged Marina Mist and Pear Pizzazz on top to give this look, kind of like of light filtering through leaves. I added a bit of Pear Pizzazz marker behind the leaves of the tree to add a bit of dimension.
I love the new Hardwood background stamp. If you know me and background stamps, you gotta know when I saw that I squealed pretty loud! Only a few more days and you can put in an order for all these goodies (January 3!) Squeee! Ta!
