Yes, it's that time again. Yesterday, I boarded my flight for Salt Lake City and now am enjoying the amenities at Chez Weixler!
It was kind of a hairy trip. First, bad weather in Denver meant a huge delay for my flight, so Frontier got me tickets on American instead. So instead of my leisurely dinner I was planning to have at the airport, I had to hustle to catch my new flight. It got to Dallas, and then I had to dash from the A concourse to the D concourse to catch my next flight with only 20 minutes to spare (I thought). I got there, and it was delayed for 25 to 30 minutes. Most of the food places that were in that part of the concourse were closing or already closed for the evening. I wasn't sure when they would start boarding, so I didn't dare wander far. Originally, I was supposed to arrive in SLC around 10:40. The new flight was supposed to arrive at 11:00. We didn't get there until 11:45.
So it was a very hungry Jan who arrived in SLC. I had brought some Fiber One 90-calorie brownie bars and had eaten one on the first leg of my journey and another on the second leg. They aren't the most thrilling fare, but at least the fiber kept me from feeling ravenous. But sweet Wendy had her daughter pick up one of Cafe Rio's delicious salads for me, which I ended up eating at 1 AM. Points wise, it clocked in at about 12 points since I didn't really eat much of the rice, didn't do more than nibble at the tortilla, and left most of the black beans. I have been craving one of these salads since last year, when Wendy introduced me to them the first night I got to SLC. So all in all, a very successful day on Weight Watchers! Plus all the extra walking along with the fact that I did my usualy 45 minutes on the treadmill got me another 6 activity points for the day! Unheard of! The most I usually get is 2, maybe 3 tops!
I don't know how much sleep I got, but I can tell you it was not enough...may be napping a little later today! Otherwise, I edited a bunch of photos I had taken of swaps and other cards, and now I've got one more swap to complete, just a 10-card swap, but it's an "Over the Top" swap, so a little more work. I don't really like to show swaps before I actually swap them, and so I won't be showing you that one today. But I did actually get to play with my Holiday Catalog stuff when it came just before July 4th, and here's the first card I made:
Ingredients: Stamps - O Holy Night; Paper - Winter Frost Specialty DSP, Smoky Slate, Pool Party Coordinations, Island Indigo, Whisper White; Ink - Island Indigo, Versamark; Other - Pretty Print Embossing Folder, silver EP, clear EP, Whisper White Organza ribbon, Silver 1/8" ribbon, Frosted Finishes embellishments, Basics Jewels rhinestones, sponge wedges, dimensionals.
GOJUS!!! (YILM!) I love everything about this and hope you do too!
Well, off to the swap mines I go. Stay reals, y'all.
