My daughters are both back to school as of this past Wednesday!
So far:
- One lunch out for Emily after her orientation.
- One breakfast out for Laurel before her orientation.
- One missed Freshman/New Parent orientation because I had to work (but I already knew this stuff anyway).
- Had to buy a book that Laurel forgot to get at the book sale on Tuesday.
- Had to run Laurel's lunch out to her once because she forgot it.
Luckily the last two coincided. But between this and taking Will to the doctor and chiropractor, it's been a busy week.
Will has lost 20 pounds since June, which is when we raised the dosage on his ADD medication. He had lost some before after starting it, but this recent dramatic drop seems to be a combination of the dosage being raised and not being at school eating pizza every day for lunch. When he is at home and responsible for feeding himself, he often just does not bother. Hopefully he's starting to turn the corner. It seems to affect him most in the morning, but his appetite seems to be picking up in the evening, finally. I took him out for breakfast on Friday and he could barely touch his bacon (!!!) and pancakes. I think we need to make sure he eats breakfast BEFORE he takes his pill. And once more he is having problems with his ears, which is why we have been at the chiropractor. His spine was a mess, apparently. So, many visits this week and next week.
We also determined that he doesn't need new shoes after buying some online and finding that they don't fit so we took them back. He ended up trying on his shoes from last year and they were fine. We also got his hair buzzed, which made him look like he has been in a concentration camp, so thin, so thin! I wish I could give him some of my "extra" weight, LOL! He needs it much more!
It's been nice spending time alone with Will. He really is a sweet kid and fun to talk to. And when Will wants to talk, he rarely stops. To think I used to spend a lot of time when he was little wishing he would talk, as he talked late! I'm glad, though, he hasn't hit that stage where he barely says anything to his parents and hope he never does!
I've been having fun playing with my stamps when I am not doing all of the above plus working. I just need to remember to get up here and blog more often! Here's another card:
Ingredients: Stamps - Sweet Floral, Netting, Frame It, Perfectly Penned; Paper - Wisteria Wonder, Whisper White; Ink - Wisteria Wonder, Versamark; Other - White EP, Wisteria Wonder ruffled ribbon, Ticket Corner punch, Clear Rhinestone brads, sponge wedges, dimensionals, craft knife.
GOJUS!!!! (YILM!) I love how the Netting stamp makes any flowers that are stamped on top or underneath look like lace! I wanted to try a monochromatic card and this card just fell into place. It's another of the cards from my presentation.
Ta!

Jan, your card is so beautiful! I am so glad you are blogging again. I missed your beautiful work and your humor.

Keep blogging, we miss you...I love this card. Hang in there with Will...it is a battle with eating but so worth it if the meds work...

I love your card - and especially love your writing style. You always make me laugh. Thanks for taking the time out of your very busy life to share your talent and humor with me.
I have a son with ADD also. For us, it was a constant tight rope walk to keep the meds right. ADD had a pretty profound effect on our son's life - and as a result, on our family's life as well. People think it's as easy as taking a pill and your problem is gone. ADD is a term thrown around cavalierly and, often times, with derision. They should only know the truth.
Sorry to be so serious - obviously a hot topic with me LOL!

I really liked this card. Haden't noticed any of these stamps and had to look them up.
Probably have read through the catalog 50 times before. Great Job!
