I am sitting here, eating a piece of cake with blue frosting. It's precisely the color of Cool Caribbean cardstock, a color I still pine and yearn for (and since I have ample stores of the cardstock, which I barely ever use, I have no fears of not being able to fulfill that yearning, unlike, oh, CHOCOLATE, for instance.) ANYWAY, while thinking about Cool Caribbean, I suddenly realized that I had meant to get back here and post the cards from my class and time has just FLOWN by!
So, I thought I'd hustle on over here while I had a free moment and show one of these beauties! Lookie:
Ingredients: Stamps - Nature Walk, Sincere Salutations; Paper - Botanical Gazette DSP, So Saffron, Early Espresso, Marina Mist, Very Vanilla; Ink - Pear Pizazz, Stazon Jet Black, Early Espresso; Other - Wide Oval Punch, 1/4" Old Olive grosgrain, Watercolor Wonder Crayons, Modern Label Punch, Pewter Brads (Metallic Brad collection), dimensionals sponge wedges, Color Spritzer tool.
GOJUS! (YILM) I love this Nature Walk set, and since I had jut updated my sets of Watercolor Crayons by buying the new color kit in the catalog, I wanted to use those to color these images. I love the way it turned out!
You may be wondering why I am eating cake with blue frosting. The answer is that this is Emily's birthday cake. Emily's birthday was one month and one day ago. I have hardly had time to turn around since then, and I just kept putting off making it until today, when I finally had a break and could put it in the oven.
Emily's only request was that it would be a white cake and that it be pretty. And for pretty, she wanted blue frosting. Sky blue. SO I dug out my little set of professional food colors that I bought long ago under the assumption that I would use them. Yeah, that didn't go so hot! Anyway, a tiny little bit goes a LONG way when it comes to turning frosting blue. I got it exactly right. It's just a bit of an odd color to be eating.
In the meantime, I'm still progressing and still working hard. Getting faster and working on building my expander files so I can be faster yet. Trying to remember that His eye is on the sparrow, and I know He watches me. Ta!

Hey, bet your tongueis blue! Stick it out, yup, I was right!! Love, love your card, you still reign Queen! I am going to CASE you, ok? Life gets crazy doesn't it. Just hang on the the One who keeps you in HIs hands. What do people do without faith?
Blessings,
Deborah

Hi Jan, I was just on Facebook and the SU! post asked for colors we would like to see in our color line. One I suggested was a light cool caribbean color. Hop over to FB and suggest your color choices for the ones you are fond of and would like to see them carry or carry again.

You're right - it's GOJUS! You sound a little like you're beating yourself up - hope not - I'm sure Emily has enjoyed the anticipation of her birthday cake and that you didn't just forget about it! Thanks for sharing.
