In the Freaky Freaky Freaky Freaky Freaky Room
Welcome to our tropical hideaway, you lucky people you!
If we weren't in the show starting right away, We'd be in the audience too!
Welcome to the May Controlfreaks Blog Tour! If you've just arrived from Melanie Schulenberg's blog, you've come to the right place! But fear not, if you have started here, it will be possible to go completely to the end and arrive back here after going to the beginning of the tour! We're loopy! (but you knew that!)
This month's tour focuses on products from the Summer Mini catalog. I
me some Summer Mini products, mmm mmm mmmmm!
So to start off, I thought I'd continue with my Tiki theme and use the set Tropical Party! At first, I thought that since everyone and their brother has been using this set for the past month, no one would want to see it anymore. But then I thought, "Hey, they may have seen OTHER people using this set, but they haven't seen JANTINK use it, now have they?!?!?"
(YILM!) So I pulled it out, inked 'er up, and now lookie:
Ingredients: Stamps - Tropical Party, Rough Type; Paper - Island Oasis DSP, Tempting Turquoise, Old Olive, Rose Red, So Saffron, Whisper White; Ink - Tempting Turquoise, Rose Red, Old Olive, Pumpkin Pie; Other - 3/4" circl punch, Ice & Fire Round rhinestone brads, eyelets, Natural hemp, sponge wedges, Rose Red 1 1/4" double stitched grosgrain ribbon, dimensionals, white gel pen.
OMGojus!!!! Doesn't this just make you think of palm trees swaying, cool tropical breezes, and frosty beverages with little umbrellas stuck in them? It made me think of Hawaii, obviously. But now I'm stuck...who do I send this to? Seems weird to send it to some of my Hawaiian demo buddies (like coals to Newcastle) or maybe I should send it to someone who is going to go to Hawaii? If I can keep the BITTER BURNING ENVY out of what I put on the inside. After all:
YOU SUCK!!! YOU'RE GOING TO HAWAII AND I'M NOT!!!
Probably is not the way to go. Neither is:
I HOPE YOU EAT TOO MANY COCONUTS AND END UP STARING AT HOTEL BATHROOM WALLPAPER THE WHOLE TRIP!!!
Definitely not! These are not kind things to say...I should be happy for any friend I might have who gets to go to Hawaii, someplace I have never ever been and probably will never ever...ever..go to....
{Smack!}{Smack!}
Think I'll just stick to, "Hope you have a wonderful time!"
Anyway, moving onward! I have another project that just says "summer" to me!
No, really, it doesn't talk to me...I don't hear voices! Really!
CAN WE GET BACK TO THE CARDS?!?!
Alrighty then! Let's see, where were we...oh yeah! Summer! Lookie:
Ingredients: Stamps - Sweet Scoops; Paper - Razzleberry Lemonade DSP, Melon Mambo, Rich Razzleberry, Crushed Curry, Whisper White; Ink - Melon Mambo, Rich Razzleberry, Crushed Curry; Other - Medium Jewelry Tag Punch, Scallop Edge punch, Melon Mambo 5/8" dotted grosgrain ribbon, Stampin' Up! Hi! embosslit, white gel pen, gold brad, dimensionals.
Isn't this STINKIN' CUTE?!?!?! (YILM!) This is one of the cards we did at my last workshop. Makes me hungry for ice cream! And now that you mention it, there is an ice cream sandwich in the freezer calling my name...
No, really, like I said, "I DON'T HEAR VOICES!!!"
It's just a figure of speech!
Well, now that I've freaked you out sufficiently, I'll let you travel on to the fabulous Patty Bennet's blog! And remember to keep your ink pads wet and your pants dry! Ta!

If you think that I'm not stealing that jewelery tag doodad on the Scoops card, you are certifiable. Oh...wait...
Gorgeous cards, Tink!
Hugs,
Brandi aka Minion.

LOL - you can send ME that gorgeous card because I booked our trip to Hawaii last week! I promise I'd frame it, put it up on my wall, and pay homage to the wonderfully talented Jan Tink every time I walked by it. Please? Pretty please? You can even write inside that I suck because I'm headed to Hawaii and you're not - I have thick skin, I can handle it... wink, wink! And if I could somehow fit you into my checked baggage, I would!

Love your cards Jan (Buttering you up). I'm not going to Hawaii and I likely will never get to Hawaii (my hubby doesn't want to go there). So you could send ME the Hawaii card so that I could dream about going to Hawaii and then you wouldn't have to feel jealous or anything. You'd be doing a favor to someone who won't see Hawaii (unless I take off with some girlfriends heehee). So my address is..... LOL!

Very cute, summery card. I like what you did with the HI embosslet: using the gel pen to highlight HI.

Great projects Jan. I especially like the ice cream card - great color combo for this set. That is very do-able for a workshop - I may case you in June for one.
