Back to normal! Whatever that may be! I always have liked that saying, "Normal is just a setting on the dryer!"
The Artisan Award stuff is done, labeled, packaged and sent off via (hopefully) careful postal hands. Now I can forget all about it for a month, right?
Nope. 'Cause now I'm obsessing: should I have put that label on the back of that 3-D item, or was the bottom okay? Because there really WAS no back. Hmmm.
And will they disqualify me because I put "Family Sayings" in the ingredients for a stamp set when I really should have put "Family Phrases"? I did change it on one project, then forgot to change it for another. ACK! This is going to EAT AT ME FOR 6 WEEKS!
All the same, I am so glad it's all done.
For you Feedblitz subscribers, I really don't know what the heck is the problem with the feed through their service. I went in and tinkered and probably made everything much worse, by the amount of "You have a new subscriber!" emails I am getting. I went in and tried fixing it one more time. I recommend that you try unsubbing and resubbing if you continue not to get any emails with the newsletter. Part of the problem was I had a feed through my old blog and I went and changed it to the new one. Now, for some stupid reason, there are three separate feeds rolling through this place. I think I need to delete two of them and get it down to one, but they all have subscribers! So I think I'm going to see how it goes for a few days...if I continue to hear of problems, I will take out the two with the least amount of subscribers.
Anyway, back to stamping. After all that careful, fussy, over-the-top stuff I did for Artisan, I needed me some nice simple stamping. Lookie:
Ingredients: (all SU!) Stamps - Very Versatile; Paper - Certainly Celery, Tempting Turquoise, Cameo Coral, Whisper White; Ink - Certainly Celery, Tempting Turquoise, Cameo Coral, Basic Black; Other - gold brads, black gingham ribbon, small & large oval punches, sponge wedges, dimensionals, Basic Black marker.
GOJUSLY SIMPLE! (YILM!) or is it SIMPLY GOJUS!!! (YILM! AGAIN!) The name of this stamp set, Very Versatile, is absolutely true. I don't understand why this was on my B list from the Occasions mini instead of being on the A list! I've already made ANOTHER card which I will share with you tomorrow from this set.
The color combination was inspired by several ribbons that are hanging together on my ribbon holder. Cameo Coral is a color I initially hated when I started out. To give SU! props, they did adjust it after I first started and it's much better than it used to be. I just thought it was loud and kind of sickening, but now that I've played with it, it is one of my favorite colors in the SU! pantheon.
Well, I have to go do my usual Saturday gig, plus I have some graduation cards to design for a new class I will be teaching at Scrappy Chic on the 16th of May. I took a bit of a break from teaching there, because of the price of gas (it's a 10 mile round trip to the store and my car only gets 15 mpg...made it kind of expensive while gas was $4 per gallon!) and scheduling problems. But now the price of gas is down and the store has two classrooms, making it much easier to get a good time! Stay tuned for the samples! Ta!

What a great card - love all the fun colors.

oh silly Jan Tink....SU wouldn't care WHAT stamp set name you put on your projects, they will be so WOW'ed by your GOJUS work that they will immediately chant, "YWLJT" (yes, we love Jan Tink!) and will clearly realize that you are worthy, oh so very worthy of the Artisian Award!
So naturally, that means that you MUST attend convention so as to be there for the special Artisian Awards recognition dinner or whatever thing they are doing for the frighteningly talented stampers!

Good luck Jan !! I'm rooting for you. You definately deserve to be chosen !!!
On the feedblitz subscribing ... I re-subscribed and now I"m getting 2 notices. So I'm wondering if I un-subscribe from one of those notices, will I then not get any notifications since it's the same email on both?? I will try, and if I don't get any notices I"ll re-subscribe again.
