I have been having fun with my new stuff. That is, when I was able to get downstairs and play, that is. Somehow, yesterday, it just didn't happen. I did manage to squeeze in a bit of stampin' time on Saturday and Friday night too.
And, no, I wasn't watching the Super Bowl. I am not a football person. I grew up with a father who *is* a football person (listening to my dad watching football was how I learned almost all the swear words I know!), but it was one thing I didn't inherit from him. As Abraham Lincoln said, "People who like this sort of thing will find this the sort of thing they like." I have never understood all the complicated rules and I don't want to, so don't try and tell me. It's fine for some people, but my brain refuses to go there.
Give me a nice straightforward sport like baseball and I'm fine. But football is another country and I have never gotten a passport.
Luckily for me, Dan is only a marginal football person. He'll watch a bit, then get fed up (usually this happens when watching the Lions, is it any wonder, LOL!) and go downstairs to work on his recordings. And this is what always gets me: he expects me to leave the football game on, so occasionally he can pop upstairs and say, "Who is winning?" and actually get an answer.
Yeah, I don't get it either.
So I have been playing with my stamps, as I said and I have a great tip for you for your new CircleScissor! I found that even though the thing has non-slip pads on the bottom, they are kind of lame. They slip a bit more than I like, probably because I wasn't standing up when I used it as recommended. So I took matters into my own hands! I pried off all the foam feeties and substituted my own:
For my feeties, I took the leftover rubber from Really Retro, a greeting stamp that is mounted on the thinner foam that some SU! stamps have. I cut the leftovers into pieces that would fit where the foam feet had been and made new feet.
It works like a charm! And now my Circlescissors does not slip one bit!
Okay, onward. I have a card to show:
Ingredients: (all SU!) Stamps - Friends 24/7; Paper - Taste of Textiles, Naturals White, Baja Breeze, Kiwi Kiss, Kraft, Chocolate Chip; Ink - Chocolate Chip, Baja Breeze, Kiwi Kiss, So Saffron, Old Olive; Other - Lots of Tags (SU! Exclusive) Sizzlits, tag corner punch, Kiwi Kiss satin ribbon, Texturez Plate (SU! Exclusive), silver brads, sponge wedges, dimensionals
GOJUS!!!! I was inspired by the colors in some of the new designer papers. I was trying to put as much new product on one card as I could, but somehow, with my genius, I was able to pull it off, n'est pas?
Well, I suppose I really ought to get busy and stamp something. Ta ra!

Such a lovely card, and I really like the new feet one your CSP, I may have to try that!

You are such an amazing rescource! To put the discarded rubber from a stamp set on you CircleScisscors. Genius. But you knew that already.
Oh, the card is nice too.

That's just perfect idea for the circle scissor!! I was wondering about the sliding issues. I'll definitely keep that in mind when I get mine!
Thanks!!!

another idea I've tried is to spray your glass mat with spray adhesive that you can find at any craft store. It will make your mat sticky, of course, but it's a lot like a cricket mat. It holds whatever you are cutting in place so it doesn't slip and then it peels off just as easy with no residue.

Beautiful card, Jan, and thanks for the tip on the circle scissor. I'm still up in the air on this one as I have the MS version already and know my tendency to simply collect tools. . .

Lovely card...and what a great tip for the slide factor on the new circle cutter. BUT, I have to admit that I am not yet sold on that new tool....do I really NEED it? I love/use my Coluzzel ALL the time!
