They are gone!

My children! At school! For 3 more hours, anyway. Today is a half day, then tomorrow, ah tomorrow...a full day! And Dan goes in for an in-service day where he works, so I will be alone again...at least for a couple of days, anyway.

In the meantime, I'm obsessively checking the Evite I sent out for tonight's class and I'm not getting any nibbles. My students are also gone, apparently! This must be a summer where everyone has been way too busy to attend classes, last year was a bit better, but not much. Either everyone's too busy or I must smell or something!Since I take showers regularly and always clean the toilet before people come, I prefer to believe that everyone is busy.

I'm glad you enjoyed the garlands. I had a ton of fun thinking up all the different ways to use the letters and no, I didn't do every single one I could think of, 'cause I thought you would all drop off to sleep if I did!

Well, now, you didn't check in here just to hear me blather, so let's get to the showing off!

I joined a swap with Michelle Laycock for Halloween and it's due on the 31st, so I thought I'd better get my butt in gear. I wanted to do something stinkin' cute, of course! So I came up with this card. I was trying to think of a cute name for it. But I finally decided to call it my "STINKIN' CUTE Trifold Card" because "Double Peep-Hole Trifold Very Punchy Card with Hidden Closure" was too much of a mouthful:

Battyforyou0807

Ingredients: Stamps - Batty for You, Party Punch, All Holidays; Paper - Pumpkin Pie, Basic Black, Old Olive, Whisper White, Creepy Crawly Designer Paper; Ink - Basic Black; Other - 1 3/8" circle punch, Scallop Circle punch, round tab punch, slit punch, Cropadile, Antique Brass Eyelets, black gingham ribbon, Basic Black, Old Olive, & Pumpkin Pie markers.

A view inside:

And a clue where the hidden closure is:

My first aim was to have a card that would fit at least one dimension in a standard envelope and also use most of 1/2 a sheet of cardstock. I don't like cards that have an odd measurement that ends up toasting a whole sheet of cardstock, but only using part of it, if you know what I mean!) So I fiddled around with the measurements to get this. I used the slit punch to create the hidden tab that holds the card closed. The measurements for this card are 4 1/4" x 9 3/4". Score at 3 1/4" (front) and 6 3/4" (center). The right fold (inside) is the remaining 3 inches of cardstock. I used my Fabulous Punch Trick (tutorial here ) to line up all the holes as well as placing the Stampamajig on the inside Whisper White piece: just put your punched post it note through the hole and stick it to the inside piece. Then use your Stampamajig to center the stamp over the post it note, then when you get ready to stamp, remove the plastic SMJ sheet and then the post it note and stamp! Easy peasy lemon squeezy!

I cut all the cardstock for these on Friday night, so I could take everything to the roller rink on Saturday, where I had promised to take my kids for their Last Fun Thing Before School outing. I got 8 of these almost done sitting there, listening to the music pounding and the kids from the two birthday parties that were sitting behind us screaming their heads off. And while, normally, I would rather have weasels gnaw off my arm than endure such a thing, for my children I will do a lot and since Stamping Got Done, it was all good.

Afterwards we hit Buddy's pizza, which was almost as noisy as the roller rink. So yesterday  I finally bowed to the inevitable and caught up on laundry, finishing my swaps in the intervals between loads. I'm off to print up my ingredient lists, package them up and mail them off. Ta!

P.S. I almost forgot! Some of you were asking for a template for the Unfroggetable votive holder I showed back in April. I have made one and loaded it in the side bar list...have fun! I'd love to see what you make!

I love this, Jan! Too stinkin' cute! And I agree, a "peep-hole" card sounds a little, well,... let's just say that the name you came up with suits papercrafting much better, LOL!

Glad you renamed it Jan - "peephole card" does sound just the tiniest bit risque' - we certainly don't want you to get a bad reputation! Thanks so much for posting the directions for this card - Now I've GOT to make one! I'm always looking for new/different card folds & this one fits the bill! Love it!

I would love to attend your class.

I love the "STINKIN CUTE" trifold card.

Looks like my evite got lost in cyber space:(
Since you are taking request for templates, I have been waiting patiently for the Princess in the tower since you posted that adorable card way back when. (you really have some pushy blog readers, don't you?)
I have niece turning 5 in December.... just sayin'

OOOH, I like the Halloween card! I did Michelle's swap too so I am geeked I will get to have one of these for my sample basket. Way cute Ms. Tink!

OOOH, I did Michelle's swap as well. Glad I'll have one of these for my sample basket. My ladies will love it. Great job Miss. Tink!

Geekneeus!

Whenever I read that noone has responded to your Evite I sigh wishing I could hop on a plane. Oh to be in your presence stamping away--what a dream:) Love, love, love your card and tutorial. Off to put the kids to bed so that I can try one.

Oh...I LOVE your 'Stinkin' Cute Trifold'!

That is such a cute card!! Love it really! Found your blog from your posts on SplitCoast - don't go there much so got an eyeful tonight - LOL! I will have to come back often and visit as your blog is awesome! *STAMPIN HUGS* Alex

Stinkin' cute for sure! Yeah, it's hard to comprehend why you wouldn't have a packed house and all of your classes.

Jan-

My first comment, although I have been a fan for quite some time.

Love, love, LOVE this card and used it last night for my club. It was a big hit and of course I gave you credit. I did however, use Simple Shapes and stamped and yellow circle in the "peep-hole" and stamped the Bitty Boos witch in it. It looked rather cute if I do say so myself.

Thanks for the idea.

LOVIN' IT!!!

Jan, I love your site! A friend and fantastic student, Susan, told me about your blog. Now I see why she's so addicted! I don't know where you find the time, but we're so blessed that you do! Thanks for sharing all these fab ideas! Now I'm going to go play with my new calendar printout (thanks for sharing THAT, too!)

Hugs and Happy Stampin'
