And the Enabler of the Week Award goes to.....
April Carroll!
Why April? Because she is soooooo devious, that's why! I'll show you in just a second. But first, some RAK acknowledgements:
Sorry about the group picture, but I was working with camera batteries that refuse to stay charged...I had some that were in the charger and said they were done, but then when the batteries that were in the camera crapped out, I put the supposedly recharged ones in and phhtttttt! Nothin'! Tried some I'd recharged and put in a drawer and same thing. Sigh...I'm getting kind of sick of these dang batteries...they make the camera ten times heavier and after a while they don't hold a charge worth a poop.
So I stuck some in the charger for 5 minutes then took them out and used 'em quick...
ANYWAY, thank you to the following friends who sent the cards above: Sara Beddow (Bluebear on SCS) for the lovely Still Life Stems with Well Worn Words card, Lisa Silver (Silvergirl on SCS) for the beautiful Measure of a Life with Best Blossoms plus Floral as a Blogger RAK (Lisa's Blog) and April Carroll (Reedross on SCS) for the Polka Dots & Paisleys card that has a secret inside:
As you may recall, April is the one that said I had NO control! So this is how she encourages me to sin again...bad April, BAD BAD BAD! And the worst part is she used some sort of very light adhesive so that coupon comes RIGHT OUT. BAD!
You can see now that I will have to go to Michael's today and see what can be done with this coupon, not to mention the one I already have! I may have to take a child with me so I can use both...see, April? Not only are you getting me in trouble, you are causing the corruption of a child! You are BAD to the bone!
On to further corruption...I had my squash book class last night and had four people come. We had a ton of fun...everyone's looked a bit different. I have uploaded the instructions in my list of templates in the right sidebar...have fun!
Now here is something else to show off:
This is the only project I have done with my Bind It All so far. I started this thing 3 years ago using Rollabind disks, inspired by a similar book offered by Bazill for their cardstock and it just didn't work. So I chucked it in a corner and just fumed that I'd wasted all the cardstock I used in it. So when I got my BIA, I trimmed the old punches off, reduced it from four color choices down to 3 and trimmed some more. Then I didn't have the right size of wire, so when I went into Scrappy Chic yesterday to cut paper for my class and I found that Chris had added the BIA to her product line and that she had the 1 1/4" wires, I bought some, came home and redid the book AGAIN. Here's what it does:
You can combine all 48 colors, plus all the neutrals and the 2007-2008 In Colors, which I used the spiral punch to add:
It's still kind of clunky and I definitely need some tips on how to make the crimping of the spiral uniform all the way across, but it does work! My next project will be to print some labels for all the sheets.
My one tip for you if you plan on doing something like this: cut your cardstock to the size of the book, punch all the holes for the spirals and THEN cut the sections. It will make life much easier! Since mine was already cut, I had to work with what I had and it was a PAIN.
Now, for one last showing off, after which I need to go downstairs and work on stuff:
Ingredients: Patterned Paper, Cardstock stickers, Rub Ons - Reminisce Beach Party; Stamp - Autumn Leaves Hand Drawn Journaling Panel; Flowers - Prima; Brads - Making Memories; Ribbon - American Crafts; letter stickers - American Crafts Simply Chic Milan Black; Cardstock - Bazill
Yes, I am so way behind on scrapbooking that I have photos from 1994 that still are not scrapped; almost everything from before Our Lives Changed Dramatically when we had children. This was the last vacation before parenthood...in fact, I am 6 months pregnant with Laurel in this picture. So while I can't make my usual comment about myself about how young and thin I look, I *can* say that about my husband, bwahahahah!
Now off to stamp and dream about that brown truck arriving next week with new catalogs just for me...filled with pictures of objects embued, endowed and encrusted with enough psychic resonance to cause mass buying frenzy in multitudes of stampers...they should put "Hazardous Material" on the box, don't you think?

I have to agree with April that you are an enabler. I wasn't going to place an order before the new catalog came out but I just finalized it a few minutes ago. Your Christmas card in the new colors did me in (along with your many other samples of new catalog stamps)
Thanks for enabling and for inspiring all of us!

OK April is a great enabler, but you are the QUEEN of enabling!!!
Could you use the rubicoil for this book? It's one of those toys that I was enabled to buyfrom SCS and have not used much.
Thanks

Wow - love the idea of the book - makes it so simple to see all the colors! Thanks!

Love the color book. I had to chuckle - when I was 6 mo pregnant with my DD we took our last "grown up" trip too - to La Jolla! Great SB page. And I've not scrapped any "pre-kid" pics either - I need to get in gear.

I definitely agree about the warning label on the catalog. I think it should say 'May cause feelings of unbelievable happiness, also known as euphoria. May also cause spending in large quatities associated with the euphoria which in turn will cause a depleated bank balance on a continual basis.' But as we know, it's worth every penny (even if we don't have a coupon!)

I'd love to make your color combo book too. Can you send or post directions? Did you use each color 3 times? (For example: did you use Real Red in all 3 sections?) Also, what size are all your sections? This is a great idea!!!
